Football guide
Keep football score from the stands. Family and friends watch live.
For the parent with the phone at the game. Scoring follows the ball: tap the team that has it, then Touchdown or Field goal. Grandparents, parents stuck at work and anyone who couldn't make it follow every score from one link, with nothing to install.
No account needed. Set up a game in about 30 seconds.

Set up the game
Open gamedayscore.live and tap Create an event, then Football. Type the away and home team names and pick a color for each.
Quarters starts at 4, with halftime after Q2; change it with − and + (1 to 8). Under If it's tied at the end, pick Overtime until there’s a winner or Can end in a tie. Then tap Save & get the link.
Setting up needs a signal, so do it before you reach the bleachers if the field has a weak one. Scoring works without one.

Kickoff: who has the ball?
The first screen asks Who has the ball? Tap the team that receives the opening kickoff. That starts the game.
From then on, the team with the ball is filled with its color and reads Has the ball. When the ball changes hands on a punt, a turnover or a missed field goal, tap the other team's side (it reads Tap if they get it) or the Ball to button under the scores.
Opening kickoff -
Touchdowns and field goals
Touchdown +6 and Field goal +3 score for the team with the ball. The screen stays on while you score.
After a touchdown the app asks for the extra point: Kick good +1, 2-pt good +2 or No good. Then the ball goes to the other team for the kickoff, as it does after a field goal.
The score by quarter and Latest scores sit under the buttons, so you can check every score at a glance.

The extra point -
Safety or a defensive touchdown
These score for the team without the ball, so they have their own buttons, named for that team.
Safety · Away Team +2 gives them 2 points and the ball. Defense / return TD · Away Team gives them 6 for an interception, fumble or kick return touchdown, then asks for their extra point.

Fix a mistake
Undo steps back one action at a time: a score, a change of ball, the end of a quarter. Tap it again to keep going back.
Touchdown called back by a flag? On the extra point question, tap Not a touchdown? Undo.
Noticed a wrong score later? Use Catch up (step 8) to set the right totals. The live page follows every fix as soon as it's sent.

End of a quarter and halftime
The app keeps no clock, so you end each quarter: tap End Q1 at the bottom of the screen. It asks End of Q1?; Start Q2 carries on with the same team keeping the ball, and Not yet takes it back.
At the half the button reads Halftime. When play resumes, tap Start the 2nd half and pick who has the ball.
Meanwhile family's page shows “End of Q1” or “Halftime” and the time it started, so a break doesn't look like lost signal.
End of Q1? Confirm or not yet -
Joined late or missed a score?
Tap Catch up (also Catch up / edit score in the menu). Copy the field scoreboard in, quarter by quarter: each team's points in each quarter. Then pick the Quarter now and Who has the ball, and tap Save & keep scoring.
What changed goes into the scoring summary as “Caught up”. If a number went down, it's “Score corrected”, and the live page says Score corrected at 7:31 PM.
Catch up, quarter by quarter -
No signal at the field
Keep tapping. Every score is saved on your phone first, and the pill at the top counts what's waiting, like Offline · 3 to send. Your taps go out by themselves, in order, as soon as there's a signal.
Meanwhile family's page reads Delayed after 2 minutes without news, then catches up when your taps arrive.
Leave the app open until the count is gone. Anything still waiting when you close it is sent the next time you open the app.
Handing the phone job to another parent? They open your scorer link on their phone and carry on. Let your phone send everything first: points a phone never sent are dropped when the other phone takes over.
-
End of the game
After the last quarter, tap End of game. The app asks Game over? and shows the winner: Finish game makes it final, and Not yet, undo takes it back.
Tied? If you picked overtime, the button reads Start OT1 and you pick who has the ball; overtime goes on until there's a winner. If the game can end in a tie, it reads End as a tie.
The final screen shows the score by quarter and every scoring play. Text the final score sends the recap, and Copy copies it:
Final: Home Team 24, Away Team 10

Fix the score after the game
Got a quarter wrong? On the final screen, tap Edit scores, fix any quarter and tap Save scores. The game stays final, and the winner follows the new totals.
The change goes into the scoring summary as “Score corrected”, and the live page shows the new final with its corrected note.
If the edit makes it a tie when your setup said overtime, the app asks before it saves it as a tie: overtime can't be played after the game.

Final
The winner, the score by quarter, every scoring play in order and when the game ended. The link keeps working after the game, so latecomers still see the result.
After a catch up that lowered a score, or an edit after the game, a note reads Score corrected at 7:31 PM. The scorer caught up on missed scores.
The rules the app follows
Exactly how the app scores a game, and what it doesn't do yet.
How it scores
- Scoring follows the ball. Touchdown (6) and field goal (3) count for the team with the ball.
- Extra point after every touchdown: kick good (1), 2-pt good (2) or no good. Then the ball goes to the other team, as after a field goal.
- Safety and defense or return TD count for the team without the ball: 2 points and the ball, or 6 points and an extra point.
- 1 to 8 quarters, 4 to start. Halftime after half of them when the number is even; no halftime when it's odd.
- Quarters end when you say so. At the end of a quarter the same team keeps the ball; after halftime you pick who has it.
- Tied at the end: overtime (OT1, OT2, …, each starting with who has the ball) until there's a winner, or a tie, as you chose at setup.
Not in football yet
- A game clock. You end each quarter yourself.
- Who scored, and following one player.
- Stats: yards, downs and distance, timeouts.
Questions parents ask
Does my family need an app or an account?
No. They tap the link and the live page opens in their phone's browser: no app, no sign-in. You don't need an account to keep score either. Your games are saved on your phone.
What if I lose signal at the field?
Keep tapping. Every score is saved on your phone and sent as soon as there's a signal; the pill shows how many taps are waiting, like Offline · 3 to send. Family sees Delayed after 2 minutes without news, then the score catches up.
I got there in the 2nd quarter. Can I still score?
Yes. Tap Catch up, type each team's points in Q1 and Q2 from the scoreboard, pick Quarter now and Who has the ball, then tap Save & keep scoring.
I gave the ball to the wrong team. How do I fix it?
Tap the right team's side, or the Ball to button: the ball moves and no points change. A score that went to the wrong team? Undo it, give the ball to the right team and score it again.
Can I change the score after the game?
Yes. On the final screen, Edit scores lets you fix any quarter. The game stays final, the winner follows the new totals, and family sees “Score corrected” with the new final.
Can someone else take over scoring?
Yes, with your scorer link (Copy my scorer link on the Share screen). They open it on their phone with a signal and carry on, and your phone shows Scoring moved to another phone. Send it only to the person taking over: anyone with it can change the score.
Can people we didn't invite find the live page?
Each game gets its own random link, and live pages are hidden from search engines. Only people you send the link to can watch, and only someone with the scorer link can change the score.
How long does the live page stay up, and can I delete it?
Until 30 days after the last change to the score; a game nobody scored is removed after 48 hours. You can delete it any time you have a signal: Delete event in the game menu, or the trash button on the game in your list on the app's home screen (that's how you delete a finished one). Then the link shows “This event isn't available.”
